Because the lighter it is, the thinner and more compact it is.Then, it was onto technological innovation!And we came up with something unique: our proprietary ReflectSOS technology! One of the sides of the Sleeping Pad is reflective, and it's used in an emergency to flash the SOS morse code. When you're stranded in the wilderness, and maybe a helicopter flies by or you see a far-away group of people in the distance, save yourself with SOS - only comes with the Alpen R-1.3.Then we added our QuickINFLATE pump sack technology.
