Description
DESCRIPTION:Antique circa 1792-1807 English Flight & Barr Worcester porcelain hand painted soup bowl with armorial.
This is an English replacement made to match a Chinese export service originally produced in China in about 1716 for the Horsemonden family which had strong ties to America. The original owner of this service was Daniel Horsemonden who was born in England in 1691 and died in Flatbush, New York in 1778. Additional information about the family can be found on page 176 in the reference book CHINESE ARMORIAL PORCELAIN by Howard (original volume 1).
MARKS:
Underglaze colorless hand incised letter B.
CONDITION:
In very good antique condition
free from chips, cracks, damages, repairs or restorations
with typical and expected very minor wear and light scratches.
There may be a few typical slight factory original imperfections possibly including glaze dimples, specs, or paint and color variations. None are visually obvious or distracting unless noted.
MEASUREMENTS:
Maximum diameter is about 9 1/8 inches.
